Papa Benedetto XVI came to Assisi today. We've been looking forward to this for over a month. We weren't sure as to how to corral the kids and make it to San Francesco. This morning at 8 am, I heard the helicopters hover over our house and down below at Rivotorto. I had to wake everyone up. The boys were tired from a very late night . But once they heard and saw the helicopters above, they got excited. We all got dressed and rushed to our "popsicle" cafe which will now be referred to as the "popesicle"cafe. The Pope had a very hectic schedule today. He was down below in Rivotorto at 8:30, San Damiano at 9:00 and Santa Chiarra at 9:30 and onto Basilica di San Franceso . We had to rush over to the cafe, because the Pope mobile will be driving by before going to Santa Chiarra. It was a beautiful morning. We hung out at the same spot as we did for the Mille Miglia event last month. It's great! This area is like the official entry into Assisi.
